These are used on the exhaust ports and fit between the exhaust manifold and engine block recessed areas to form a tight seal and prevent leaks. Ford discontinued use of these for a brief period in early 1929.
If the manifold or block has been resurfaced, the width of the gland rings will need to be reduced by the same amount.
Helps to maintain alignment of manifold. USA made.
